Before I was a writer (of the starving artist type) I was a corporate cog. I never fit into that world and it wasn't long before I got myself fired. This was in 2014. When I was fired I had to make a choice. I could try to fit my cog into a different machine, to stick with the metaphor, or I could turn my back on that world and follow my dream. I chose to follow my dream.
I got a crappy part-time job, embraced poverty, and spent almost every free second pursuing the craft of storytelling. I have been working hard at writing for nine years. I did not attend a creative writing program, seminars, or classes. I did not go to retreats, find a mentor, or otherwise seek tutelage for this craft. I couldn't afford to and I didn't want to. I wanted to teach myself. I'm glad I pursued my own course. It has made all the difference.
Breaking the Reign of the Dead is my sixth full-length novel. It took six months of planning, a year of writing, and a month of editing to arrive at a finished novel. It took several more months to design a cover, build three websites, make the downloadable files, and research where I could distribute this story to readers. All told it has been a two year project.
Please see the distribution schedule to learn when new chapters will be posted and available for download.
Breaking the Reign of the Dead is my most successful novel, successful in the sense that I used every craft technique that I knew to tell a great story. I hope you are enjoying it. Please go to my author website for more free fiction, including Pathfinder RPG and Dungeons and Dragons RPG fiction. You can also find fantasy and horror fiction and non-fiction at my Amazon store.
